Bedesa, Ethiopia - What a Blessing!

Personal Testimony of Charles Haller.
The evangelistic series in Bedesa, Ethiopia from January 26 to February 10 was a wonderful blessing to our team. Cathy McGinnis led our children’s meetings and Milton Kim presented our health talks and some of our family life talks. Chuck Haller was the speaker.
We drove from Wolayta Sodo 1 hour both ways for every meeting on roads that were extremely rough. We also had to be careful because of reported robbers along the way. The Lord protected us on several occasions. We finally hired a local policeman to accompany us. Our local church members almost insisted that we do so. God turned back more than one planned attack on our vehicle.
168 people were baptized on the last two Sabbaths. More than 50 are preparing for baptism in the very near future. Another 1500 people took their stand for the Lord Jesus and agreed to further study in preparation for baptism.
One of the lay evangelists came for the last week end’s meetings with the people that he had studied with and prepared for baptism. He, along with his 70 baptismal candidates, walked nine hours to get to our meeting site.
Several people walked two hours each way to attend our meetings and were there every night. The people were eager to hear God’s truth and much appreciated the Bible-based presentations.
