Campaign Site Narrative from Elia, Las Tunas in Cuba. The speaker assigned to this site was Delia Vickers.

The church in Elia, Las Tunas, Cuba, is full of God-fearing people and I have been blessed to know them. We were also blessed and encouraged by the way the Lord worked on this mission trip. Though things didn't always go smoothly, and there were a few difficulties, through prayer and with the help of Luis, Mark and Pastor Pino we were able to solve the difficulties as they arose. When you go to share the Word of God, I believe that the devil takes special notice and then goes to work trying to prevent or at least hinder the work. For example, there were nights when the computer simply refused to work, so we prayed in front of the church and it immediately started working without us fixing it. The devil worked hard to not have the people hear the message. On several nights we had no electricity to run the projector with, but I prayed and then preached the Word anyway. In some ways those nights were the best ones.

My faith in the Lord has grown because of this experience. I knew each step of the way that the Lord was protecting and speaking through me. Before I went I will admit that I was downright terrified about speaking in front of any crowd. I think maybe that is one of the reasons why the Lord made it clear I was to go on this mission trip and to be the speaker. The Lord may never again use me to speak up front, but now I am not afraid to speak for Him. Because, I knew without a doubt, that the Lord was there, holding my hand and filling my mouth with His words, not mine. That is very reassuring to know the Lord is doing the work and is there to guide you. Like it says in so many of the Psalms: we need not be afraid, the Lord is with us. I would like to thank ShareHim for the opportunity to go on this mission trip.
