He Used Me

Personal Testimony of Cayla Raney.

In Nicaragua, I learned a very important lesson. God can use ANYONE He wants to, and it doesn't matter what anyone else (or even you yourself) says. I am only 12 years old, but I was able to go and preach every other night to the people of Nicaragua, and was able, through God, to be partly responsible for 14 baptisms!

I get very nervous when I am up front, but about a month before I left to go to Nicaragua, I made a deal with God. I was in a play that our school choir was putting on. It was a play about American History. I had a few speaking parts, and my own solo.. I was sooooo nervous. I couldn't even sing in front of my own classmates, and most anyone will tell you that I am NOT shy.

The day of the play, I was praying all day that I would be able to do it without being nervous. I said, "Ok, God. Why don't you give me a preview of how preaching will feel?" I went and did my play and sang my solos and LOVED it! I had no fear in me at all, and sure enough, when I was in Nicaragua preaching, I had no fear. I was not at all nervous, and I absolutely LOVED it!

I had always wanted to go on a mission trip. Ever since I was 5 years old and Mrs. Glassford, one of the mission trip coordinators for ShareHim, was my neighbor, I would say, (according to her), in my baby voice, "When are you going to take me on a mithion twip Mithes Glathford?" (Lisping all the way through.) I knew I always wanted to, but it amazed me that God could take me, one who is only up front when I have to be, and could give me the courage to tell people about Him. Now, I can’t wait until I can go back next year!
