Campaign Site Narrative from Port St. Joe Campaign, Port St. Joe, FL. The speaker assigned to this site was Kenneth Stroman.

A city park was the site of an exciting set of evangelistic meetings preached in April 2007 by Ken Stroman, a Seventh-day Adventist lay preacher, in Port St. Joe, Florida. Ken had preached two overseas evangelistic campaigns previously and was planning another mission trip to the Dominican Republic when he decided to publicly share his faith right here in the United States. The campaign was one of four being held simultaneously in the Panama City area.

Florida can be hot and humid in late spring, but that didn’t stop Ken from preaching the Gospel every night to a group of people who needed to hear the message of hope in Jesus. While some of the attendees sat right in front, others chose to listen from afar. Several came regularly to sit in park benches across the street while listening to the messages. Also, three carloads of people came each night and parked at the curb to listen in.

Because the park was bordered by an apartment building on one side, the residents of the building had to make a decision. Either they could keep the windows shut and turn up their TVs, or they could open the windows and eavesdrop on the meetings from the comfort of their own homes. Many chose the latter, and despite the Florida heat, they opened their windows to hear the Good News.

By the end of the meetings, one man had made a decision for baptism. He had been attending another church in the area, but he made a decision to become a Seventh-day Adventist Christian and is now attending a local church every Sabbath. He and his wife are even holding meetings in their home to follow up on the evangelistic series. In addition, as a result of the meetings, three other individuals who were former church members chose to return to active participation in the church, and three new Bible study interests were generated. Praise the Lord for His work in the Florida Panhandle!
