A Dream And A Vision
November 1 2007 / ShareHim in Ukraine, Sep. 28 - Oct. 14 '07 #226by George Shaver
Campaign Site Narrative from Brovary, Brovary in Ukraine. The speaker assigned to this site was George Shaver.
He was seeking answers, answers to his dreams and vision. Since 1983, C had several dreams and a vision that led him to believe that God was seeking him. The dreams and vision were so real that he drew pictures of them.
He began his search for God by going from denomination to denomination seeking answers. He attended the Jewish church; it was not right; then the Eastern Religions; still nothing seemed to bring peace to him. The Catholic Church didn’t fit and neither did the other Protestant churches. In his search for God, his marriage fell apart and his two children suffered.
Then in 2007 a former member of Adventism and a friend of Cs heard about the “ShareHim” series of meetings being held at the Brovary SDA Church. She asked him to go with her. His friend had wandered from God and felt it was time to return to Him. Most of the time, they attended the meetings together. Satan was not happy. He attacked C’s car and gave him other problems with his job that hindered his attendance. Satan has a way of deterring people, but when we pray, God can make a better way.
C says that he never experienced the strength of God’s presence as powerfully as he did when he began attending the meetings. When the call for baptism was made, he decided for Christ. He spoke to Pastor Victor and then to Pastor George with the help of the translator, Sasha. With much prayer he found the answers he was seeking in Jesus and the Seventh-day Adventist Church. A weight was lifted, the dreams made sense, and his confusion was over.
After C was baptized, there was a peace and a sense of joy in his life. He had found a friend in Jesus who would see him through. His young son accompanied him to the last meeting, and now C prays that his boy will soon find the joy that he is now experiencing.
At the same time in Brovary, a woman was attending the meetings. Halfway through the series, she had to travel to Kiev for the weekend and was delighted that she could attend the same Biblical messages there. While attending in Kiev, the call was made for baptism and she was baptized. When she returned home there was a celebration for her decision and she was welcomed into her new church family.
Two Baptist people had their faith shaken during the series. When they attempted to argue about Biblical issues, the pastors would simply show them what is written in God’s word. They are now stepping forward and seeking more truth.
Pastor George shared that, during the meetings, people came to him sharing problems that were going on with spiritualism. Satan was trying to distract us from our mission. Once, just before He stood up to preach, a girl came running in and told the translator that there was a problem with a woman and an evil spirit. Another night there was a lady that thought she had a “Special” message that our churches in the USA as well as a family member were having problems. (There was no truth to it.) She believed it was her duty to share this message with those at our meeting. With God’s help, Pastor Victor (the local pastor) was able to keep her quiet.
Praises to God for those “ShareHim” missionaries in the Ukraine who set aside financial obligations, time and jobs to serve and make the over 100 baptisms possible. Finally, let there be more praises to God for those who answered God’s call to financially support ShareHim and The Quiet Hour.
Pastor Victor with 2 of the non-adventist ladies who came and were
so excited to get a Bible. They attended faithfully and are continuing
to study. They would come before the program and would be among the last to leave. They were so excited to study and hear God’s Word.
