Campaign Site Narrative from Taculing Ilong SDA Church, Bacolod in Philippines Central A. The speaker assigned to this site was James Vance.

“Share Him, there’s a story to tell” were some of the lyrics of the theme song of the ShareHim Evangelistic Crusade. Surely, the ShareHim Evangelistic crusade has a story to tell from Taculing Ilonggo Seventh-day Adventist Church during their fifteen day crusade. Mr. James Vance from Arizona, USA was the speaker, and Pastor Jimmy Quijote Jr. of Negros Conference was the translator.

“Truth for Today and Hope for Tomorrow” was the theme that made up the story of the two kids who led the couple to the Lord. Franze, a 3-year-old boy, who has a non- Adventist neighbor and a playmate name Jennylyn, a 2-year-old little girl, who likes to go with Franze to church every Sabbath. Her family living depends only on a three-wheeled bicycle with an earning of 100 pesos a day. Franze mother and his mother’s uncle, who is one of the church elders, were kind enough to share whatever they have with Jennylyn’s family. Their concerns brought love to the family of this little girl to their Adventist neighbors.

One afternoon, when Franze’s grandpa Edgar was about to go to the opening night of the crusade, Franze invited his little playmate, Jennylyn, to go with them for the children’s hour. Jennylyn hurriedly called up her parents and asked them to come with her to the church. Because of the different beliefs and religion they have, the parents of Jennylyn were hesitant to go to the SDA church, but the little girl insisted her parents to go with her.

The first night of the campaign, the topic focused on the chapter two in the book of Daniel, giving a deep impression to the couple about the graven image. When they reached home, they asked more about the Bible. Every night, Franze would invite Jennylyn to come with them to the church. Whenever Jennylyn heard the sound of the tricycle, their service vehicle to church, she would scream “It’s time to go,” and she would cry if her parents would not come with her. So Edgar, Franze’s grandpa, started his Bible study with the couple whenever he was at home after his work at Bacolod Adventist Medical Center. The couple became interested to attend every night to listen the message. They were among the crowds who would come up to the stage for a special prayer.

During the last week of the evangelistic crusade, my mother asked them about their decision card. At first they were in doubt, but three days before the nightly meetings ended, the couple came to her table and said a big yes! They are willing to accept baptism and gave the decision card to her.

They said that, without the eagerness of their daughter Jennylyn and Franze, their little boy neighbor, who is always faithful to bring his playmate to church, especially for the ShareHim Evangelistic Crusade, they would not know the truth about the Seventh-day Adventist Religion. Mr. James Vance said, “God used these little kids with the help of the Holy Spirit to lead this couple to know the truth.”

The couple was baptized with the 30 other candidates from the church and among the three hundred sixteen souls who were baptized from other churches on March 29, 2008 during the mass baptism held at Central Philippine Adventist College, Recreation Center, Murcia, Negros, Occidental Philippines.

“Every heart has a mission, please answer the call.” Are you like one of these kids who “Shared Him?”
