Doctor Makes Decision for Christ

Personal Testimony of Charles Pea.

Although we had been on several ShareHim trips, our trip to Alquizar, Cuba in Feb 2010 was by far the most memorable. The church was packed each night in spite of rain, cold, and three nights without electricity.

The last Sabbath, 20 were baptized although the church had expected only 10. And, 85 had agreed to Bible studies.

A surgeon attended every night. He had studied various religions during the past four years and had found that the Seventh-day Adventists adhered most closely to the Bible; but he still had some reservations.

The night we presented the four horses of Revelation 6, he said afterward that for the first time he understood what the horse meant. The night we presented the identifying marks of God's remnant church, he said it was clear the SDA church was the remnant church and that Ellen White fulfilled the Spirit of Prophecy.

However, he still had some reservation, such as no being sure he wanted to join a local church, the wearing of jewelry and he had been unable to stop smoking. For several weeks we emailed him encouragement and counsel.

In a small way we felt like the apostle Paul who, after he had visited churches, would write to encourage and instruct them.

A few days ago we received an email from the doctor, with pictures, telling and showing us of his baptism.

We have maintained contact with the doctor, the pastor and several of the church members. It has truly been a life-changing experience to have a small part to play in preaching the gospel and seeing people accept Christ as their Savior.
