Personal Testimony of Stephanie Thomas.

I’ve really enjoyed being on this mission trip. If I were asked to do it again, I’d come back in a heartbeat! Every night I was blessed with the opportunity to work and play with kids. We would sing songs, tell a Bible story, make a craft, and play games. It was an amazing bonding experience. The kids were always thrilled when we showed up at the church and loved all the activities we did.

My favorite part of working with kids was probably singing songs. They were very energetic and loved learning new things. Because most of the kids only spoke Spanish, I thought it’d be really hard to communicate, but I was wrong. Even though we had a language barrier, I felt very connected to them. We would communicate by using hand motions and facial expressions. The kids even taught us some songs in Spanish. I don’t know what it is about these kids, but they always put a smile on my face. You could tell that they loved God very much and don’t take anything for granted.

A lot of the people here are very poor and don’t have much, but they are still filled with gratitude and happiness. They showed me that even though life might be hard, we should always love and trust God. This had a huge impact on me and made me realized how lucky I am and how good God has been to me!

I’m glad I chose to come on this mission trip and it’s going to be hard to say goodbye to all the loving people here. This amazing experience has been a huge blessing to me and I think anyone who has the opportunity to go on a mission trip should do it!
