Personal Testimony of Madeline Wade.

I had always heard of the awesome experiences that people have had on mission trips, but I never expected this trip to Mexico to be so incredibly uplifting and fun. I was a bit hesitant about going to Chetumal because I wasn’t sure about the hardships I’d have to face. I was having doubts about doing VBS with the kids since they wouldn’t be able to understand what we were saying and vice versa. But honestly, I don’t think we would have become so connected with the kids if we hadn’t been able to have the fun experiences with trying to break through that language barrier.

The kids loved acting out what they were trying to tell us and listening to us trying to speak Spanish. Even though we spoke totally different languages, we were still able to teach them tons of songs and games that kept them laughing the whole time. All of the kids here have taught me so many lessons. They are always open to everything we do no matter how crazy it is. It’s amazing how much love these small kids have—not only for us, but for God. They always wanted to help and just hang out with us.

I have gained so many blessings from this trip and the connections I’ve made with the people here. I know that all of us will greatly miss the kids and people here. I strongly encourage people to jump at the chance to go on a mission grip. I promise you won’t be disappointed!
