Personal Testimony of Vanessa Duncan.

I had an awesome experience at my church here in Madagascar. The testimonies that were translated to me were awesome to hear. The one I wanted to share was about this lady wanting to get baptized despite what her husband said to her.

This lady was the sister of my Malagasy teacher; she was not a Seventh-day Adventist but somehow ended up at the meeting. As she was going to these meetings, she decided to follow Jesus. But there was only one problem. Her husband did not approve of this and threatened to leave her if she got baptized.

So she got family and friends together and they all prayed for her to make the right decision. She made up her mind that she would get baptized despite her husband's threats. I was amazed at the courage that she had to get baptized and it really touched my heart that she was willing, despite her husband, to get baptized. It makes me think, "What am I willing to lose when I am making a decision to follow Christ?"

Are we too scared of what others might think, are we afraid of losing a job, a spouse, losing good treatment from our family? The good news is that when "one door closes, God always opens up another door" which is going to be for our own good. And I pray that God worked on her husband's heart and he decided to change his mind about her decision.
