Rwanda experience was an Eye-Opener
August 14 2006 / ShareHim in Rwanda, Jul. 14 - Jul. 29 '06 #52by Mervyn Williams
Campaign Site Narrative from Kacyiru, Kigali in Rwanda. The speaker assigned to this site was Mervyn Williams.
It was facinating to see the people of Rwanda respond like they did to the Gospel, and particularly the messages we delivered on Prophecy.
The people did not have cars, nor was public transportation available, but they walked to church each night and on Sabbath. It appears that they know how to worship and praise a God that they have come to know, and one who is good to them.
There is no doubt that those of us from the USA who went to teach and preach certainly learned as well. The site was prepared and I received full cooperation from the Senior Pastor as well as all of the officers, and the members were warm.
My site was a Zinc roof covered, iron framed structure with concrete blocks and wood seats, with wick mats for cushions and dirt floor to match. However! that is their own, and it provides a "Holy" place for them to worship God in complete humility.
The children were eager to see the Jesus video each night, and when there was a part that everyone liked, the church applauded in unison. They were also very appreciative of the DVD and the Video I left them.
The attached photos capture some of the people in attendance, and the Baptism which followed at the end of the Campaign.
I pray that God will continue to protect and provide for all involved in the planning of this incredible aspect of global ministry that is ShareHim.
Thanks for the opportunity.
