Personal Testimony of Nils Davis.

Our first night was not so good for they had problems with the PA system and many of the people came late. I was very nervous. My sermon was long but one sister told me not to worry for it helped her to better understand her Sabbath School lesson. This gave me a boost.

The people came every night even through the rain and many had no umbrellas just a face towel over there heads. Some came by foot and some by a mini bus, and a small Pickup, others walked for an hour but they were there every night. I have never seen such dedication.

When I first arrived the first night I saw the youth outside, SDA’S and Non SDA’S the pastor said not to worry about them for they will never come inside to the meetings.
I saw them peeking through the windows and the second night and every night after they flocked into the church. Some even hugged my wife and I after the meetings. God is good.

I was told by the pastor that 25% of the members of that church cannot read but they were there every night. We hope to help them with a few “mega voice” apparatus in the future, the Lord willing.

One night just before we got started a young lady about sixteen years old was brought in by two pastor, she was one of the Ushers and she was crying and said that she had a severe pain just under her sternum. The pastors asked my wife and I to come with them to the back room of the pulpit and while my wife hugged the child the pastors prayed and we prayed silently for her. After the prayer to our Lord, the pain was gone and never came back. This child clung to my wife for the rest of that night and every night thereafter.

The ushers all dressed alike and changed colors often. They were all highschool students. I requested a song and they willingly got together and sang a song on two deferent nights. It was brought to our attention by one of the ushers that one usher was deft and dumb. Her relatives did not think she was good for any thing because of her handicap. We along with the pastor’s wife took her for ear exams and got her fitted for hearing aids. She now has hearing aids and we will have her attend a school where they can teach her to talk so that come January next year, she will be ready for high school.

One lady told me that she had cancer and was getting baptized against her husband's wishes but that nothing would impede her from getting baptized. She was baptized under the rain that night.

My wife had a conversation with the hotel’s night manager about the scriptures and as a result he attended church the following Sabbath. He is now getting married with his live-in girlfriend in preperation for baptism.

About 20 of the people baptized were a result of contacts made in the homes and the rest were direct result of the campaign for a total of 55 persons baptized. Praise the Lord.
