Quiet Hour
By William Gravestock

It was a Quiet Hour that morning
when the seventy were sent out.

at Alajuela SDA University
twas their “Father’s Business” they were about.

Separate teams united side by side
focused to give our message--
“Christ and Him Crucified!”

The presence of God’s Holy Spirit
was felt as we walked about
with praise on our lips
and joy in our hearts;
“Share Him” was the theme we would shout!

With smiles on our faces,
songs in our hearts
and a spring in our step we went forth
some to the south some to the west;
and the rest of us—we headed north.

The church members? Such support!
every night at seven we preached.
As God’s Word was proclaimed with power,
more and more people were reached.

Then decision night came
And the “called” came forth.
Their hearts to Jesus they gave.
The time came to descend by faith,
and be buried in the watery grave.

“My Word shall not return unto me void.”
If we sow, He will empower.
In Costa Rica, what a privilege was ours,
that all began with a Quiet Hour!
