Personal Testimony of Rhonda Lyons.
Coming to West Malaysia has been such a blessing to me. I praise the Lord for the oportunity.
I had to learn about computers and the first nite my clicker didn't work so I preached without pictures. Every night for the first few nights I was nervous when it came time to connect everything. Was the synchronization going to work or not?
Finally one morning I said to my room-mate,"I'm tired of this not knowing if I will get the computer and projector to work together. I want to figure this out in the room before tonights meeting." She said, "Let's Pray about it." We did and I got busy trying to figure it out. We both put in our ideas and Praise the Lord, He helped us to figure it out. It was so nice to set up and start smoothly! I know God cares about these things. He sure blessed us.
I was blessed with the opportunity to go and visit the church members. They opened up their homes and gave me a greeting equivalent to a British Tea. The visiting brought some of the members who hadn't been coming, to the meetings. Also I got to have a Bible study with a 25 year old man. He needs to get back to attending church every Sabbath. He seemed to really enjoy the Bible study. I had good support from the members for the meetings. We had 12 baptisms at our church. Most of them were young people from the church. Praise the Lord for a generation of Josephs and Daniels! It always makes me happy to see our young people join their church. This can go a long way to spare them from making the commmon mistakes young people make. Sg. Pinang involves their young people in thier church. I realize this was a real blessing from God. One man who was a Roman Catholic stepped out in faith and was baptised! His family rejoiced! Pray for the churches in Malaysia. This is a Muslim country. At least they can hold meetings. The government has gone to a five day work week. This has been a big blessing to our people. One of the baptismal candidates was someone who didn't have to work on Sabbath anymore. One of the grandmas came every nite even at her age!
The meetings taught me more about depending on God. About expecting God to come through because this was His work.
More later. I am still studying with the young man. Please pray for him.
A year ago from the last campmeeting I couldn't see myself preaching when Elder Fawlkenberg was asking people to commit to preaching in at least one series a year! I didn't know I would be going to Malaysia!!
