Homeland Report: Zachary's new Ministry
October 27 2006 #77by Keith Larkin
Personal Testimony of Keith Larkin.
As we got closer to the opening night, we worked hard getting out the fliers inviting the people out. We had the Gonzales Pathfinders helping us go door to door giving a personal invitation to the people. The kids passed out over 2000 fliers to the people and were so excited to be able to help in this ministry.
We found that the people in the area in which we were working were very interested in the Bible, but with a church on about every other corner we had no one from the community come out to the meetings. So instead we made it more of a revival for our own members.
I was the presenter of the meetings, and it was an eye opener to me as to what all it took to get a series of meetings off the ground. I think I learned more than the ones who came. I am so excited to say we had about 9-12 church members attend every night, and for our church group that was a pretty good showing. We had no non-members come and no baptisms. We video taped each of the meetings as one of our members donated the video equipment so we can start a DVD ministry in our church. I think that this has inspired some of our members to the need of more involvement in our church. I am now sure that I must do more of these meetings as I can see that this is clearly an inspired way to get the message out to the people. I am ready and willing to do this again.
Your Brother in Christ,
