Three Miracles in Kenya

Personal Testimony of Pierson Royer.

I want to share three stories of how God worked miracles while I participated in ShareHim meetings in Kenya.

First Miracle:
One evening while preaching in Chepilat, Kenya, torrential rain came pouring down so hard that all of my listeners had to take shelter in nearby houses, verandas, and porches. Thirty minutes into my sermon, I stopped preaching, raised my right hand toward heaven, and prayed that God would stop the rain just like he made the sun stand still for Joshua. God fulfilled His promise. I was able to finish my sermon and then invited people to come up front to live their lives to Christ. As soon as I said "Amen" to my prayer that ended the meeting, the torrential rain again came pouring down with a vengeance. I praise God for all He has done.

Second Miracle:
In Kenya, I went with the elders to pray for an Adventist woman who had pulmonary problems with her lungs and with appetite. Her knees were so swollen that she had not walked or gotten out of bed for seven years. Yes! Seven years.

When I finished praying, I explained to the woman why it was necessary for her to exercise her faith. I took her right hand while my interpreter took her left hand, and together we walked her back and forth in her little mud hut.

Faith is using what you have coupled with what God will give to you to produce a miracle. The next morning, the swelling had disappeared in the woman's knees, her appetite returned, and her lungs were functioning once again. My interpreter told me that God had brought me to Kenya to show him that if only he will believe, it can be done. The Adventist woman began walking on her own the next morning.

Third Miracle:
Before I left my home in Montreal, I had to weigh all of my luggage. Because of all the literature and extra materials I'd packed to share with the people in Kenya, my bags were way beyond the maximum allowed by the airline. My wife asked me, "How are you going to pay for this overweight luggage when all you have is pocket change for the trip itself?"

I told her that was God's business and that I'd let Him take care of His business. So I asked Him to perform a miracle at the airport so I wouldn't have to pay extra fees.

At the airport, the airline attendant looked at me after weighing my luggage and said, "Sir, you are overweight."

"I know," I said.

She suggested, "Take some of the things out of this bag and put it in another suitcase to even out the weight."

I rearranged the materials and weighed my bags three different times until the airline requirements were met. I paid nothing extra, and moreover I got an upgrade to fly in first class.
